All About Love Stampin Friends Hop

Welcome to the All About Love Stampin Friends Hop.

Happy New Year!  I am so excited about the hop this year.  We have several NEW participants.   I really believe you’ll be blown away by their talent!

You have arrived at Kathie’s (that’s me!) blog.  If you have arrived from Cindy Waldroff‘s amazing blog … I’m glad you came for a visit!  Be sure to continue  though the hop until you get back to where you started.  I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop on through!  The list of participants is at the bottom of this post.  Just click on Melissa Thomas  to get to the next stop on the hop.

Here are my projects for our January hop … Valentine’s Day.  I chose to use the  Stampin’ Up!’s  Sale A Bration set PARTY PANDAS  as one of the FOUR stamp sets for this project.  FYI: Party Pandas is only available for FREE during Sale A Bration when you place a $50 order.
Such a tiny card … so many sets!!!  ;-D

I used the Whisper White Narrow Note Cards and Envelopes from the Occasions catalog (page 19) to make this card.  The cards are not mail-able … so pop them into a larger envelope if you want to mail these cards in the USA.

The other 3 stamp sets are from the Stampin’ UP!’s annual catalog.  Ready to Pop (inside sentiment), Teeny Tiny Wishes and Artistically Asian.

For inks, I used Memento Black, Wild Wasabi and the Real Red (marker).  I found it very easy to just ink up the sentiments with the marker … this way I knew I wouldn’t catch and edge and mess up the card!

The first thing I did was to stamp the panda on a post it note, cut him out to use as a mask.  Then I stamped the panda on a whisper white layer.  Cover the panda with the mask and stamp the bamboo.  Remove the mask … and voila!  There he is IN FRONT of the bamboo.  Don’t forget to color in the little heart on the envelope he is holding!

Petal Passion Designer Series Paper  (DSP) is used for the layer on the card base.  A Real Red layer is under the panda piece.  The Real Red 1/8″ solid ribbon is a carryover from the Stampin’ UP! Holiday catalog.

I also stamped a panda on the envelope.  I used the 2 1/4″ circle punch to make a simple liner from the DSP for the envelope flap.

As always, I carry the theme from the card front to the inside.  I love that little “with love” from the Ready to Pop stamp set.

Below is my 3-D project … I used the Mini Pizza Boxes that carried over from the Holiday Catalog.  The Sweet and Sassy Thinlets were used to cut out the heart to make the window in the Mini Pizza Box lid.

I added a window sheet between the Real Red layer and the pizza box lid.

The adorable panda is fussy cut. and adhered with a few Stampin’ dimensionals.

I filled the food safe mini pizza box with these chewy cinnamon hearts … they are HOT!!  But oh, so good!!  As a note, I don’t think the window sheets are labeled “food safe” so you could put the loose candy in one of Stampin’ UP!s food safe cellophane bags and then place it in the box if you are concerned.

Stampin Friends Love Theme Hop

sf-hop-header-2017

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Love Themed Hop!  The theme is broad, but with Valentine’s Day coming up, I decided to create a Valentine’s Day card I think my grandchildren will love to receive.  I also made a matching treat bag that I can fill with treats.

If you have arrived from Raquelle Clifton’s amazing blog … welcome.  You can get back to her via the “previous button” or just keep on hopping and you will get to her soon.

Be sure to continue on though the hop until you get back to where you started.  I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop on through!

***********

Here are my projects.  Everything I used is from Stampin’ Up!  … well except for the toothpicks!!

Yes .. this is a Twisted Pop-Up Card.  You’ve been seeing them everywhere, I imagine.  This was my first attempt … it was EASY!  So easy, I am teaching this in my class this week.  I am not going to bore you with the “how-to” because you can go take a peek over at “splitcoaststampers.com” under tutorials.  The tutorial even have a video at the end!

I LOVE the “Hey, Chick” Sale-a-bration” stamp set (143331).  You can get this set FREE with a $50 Stampin’ Up! order during Sale-a-bration … now through March 31, 2017.

Here is my card front.  Smoky Slate, Real Red and Whisper White are the cardstock colors.  I colored the combs with a Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker and the feet and beaks are Crushed Curry.

Do you LOVE the “chicken wire” I used as a background???  I grabbed that stamp from “Butterfly Basics” (137154) and stamped in Smoky Slate.  The chickens are done in Basic Black Archival ink and all sentiments are stamped in Real Red.  I used the Confetti Hearts Border punch to make the heart-y chicken feed.  I adhered those tiny hearts with our fine tip glue.

I cut out a wing and adhered it with a glue dot so the chicken can hold up the sign.  “Teeny Tiny Wishes” (127802) gave me “Happy Valentine’s Day”.

My Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) saved the day for getting the chickens stacked just so!

Let’s open the card.  ….so cool!!  It opens and closes very smoothly.

I’ll give you some close up looks at the individual panels.

I searched through my catalog to find the sentiments I wanted on each panel.  In the end, I used 6 stamp sets for this card!   booklet

“Ready to Pop” (141513) for panel #1 and the inside sentiment.  “Sweet Stack” (138948) for panels #2 & 3.  “Bloomin’ Love” (140643) gave the bouquet the silly moptop chicken in panel #4 is holding behind his/her back.

My project is a simple gift bag.  It’s is 5 1/2″ tall.   I hate to admit it, but this was the first time I used the gift bag punch board (135862).  I know I’ll be using it often.  I watched a video from Stampin’ Up!  on how to use it and I was off and scoring!20170116_213145_wm_resized

I hope you enjoyed my post.  I’d love it if you can take the time to leave me a comment or a question.
