Spring has sprung!!! Well it seems like it anyway … the 20th isn’t far away. The weather in Massachusetts has been pretty nice. I loved our easy winter … I would like more of the same next winter. Please?
Welcome to my stop on the hop. Did you just come from Steph Jandrow’s amazing blog? You can get back to her via the “previous button” or just keep on hopping and you will get to her soon.
Be sure to continue on though the hop until you get back to where you started. If you take the time to comment on each blog with “#SFMarHop” as you travel through, you will be entered to win a prize form each of us … One lucky winner gets LOTS of surprises in the mail. Details are below.
This month we have three amazing Guest Hoppers joining us. Be sure to say hello to them as you travel through the hop.
“Spring or Pastels” was the theme we had to follow this month. I covered a few bases by making them Easter … guess what the grandkids are getting!! … Well, I’ll need to buy more jelly beans … every time I took a photo there were fewer and fewer jellybeans … I just don’t understand …..
So Saffron, Pool Party and Blushing Bride are my pastels for spring! The chick is from Honeycomb Happiness (141291), a Sale-A-Bration set. There is still time to earn him! But hurry, March 31st is the last day of Sale-A-Bration! I stamped him in Memento Black in on Whisper White cardstock and again on (the now retired) Perfectly Artistic DSP. I forgot it was retired when I made this card for the hop!! So sorry … BUT … you can use So Saffron cardstock or any DSP with a subtle print. I fussy cut out the yellow chick without his legs and glued it on the image stamped on the white cardstock. A Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker colored his feet and beak. I used the 2-1/2″ circle punch to cut the chick circle. The colored circle was made with the Circles Collection Framelits (130911). The background DSP is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (138437). The word “Happy” is from the Hello You Thinlits (138283). The word “Easter” or Spring” is from Crazy About You (137137) and die cut using Banner Framelits (132173). A Tea Lace Paper Doily (129399) and some White Seam Binding finish off the card.
I rarely leave the inside of a card blank. The sentiment is from Greatest Sayings (140706).
Here is my “oh so very easy” project. I hope you like it!
I don’t use this die often enough .. there is so much you can make with it. I love the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits (135853). After cutting out the shapes, I used a circle die to make a window in one side so my QUICKLY DISAPPEARING JELLY BEANS would show. I glued in a piece of window sheet (114323) which was cut using the next larger circle die. I covered part of the box with paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (138437).
I felt the box needed something more, so I cut a matching butterfly using the medium sized butterfly from the Butterfly Thinlits (137360). I cut the butterfly down the center of his body and glued a half to each side of the slit.
This box is amazingly sturdy. Even though it is now void of any jelly beans … it once was full.
I hope you enjoyed my post …. now for prizes. Please comment on each blog using #SFMARHop along with your comment. (Please note … the prizes pictured are NOT what the winner will receive.) The winner will receive a prize from each of the bloggers in this hop!
