Here are my projects.  Everything I used is from Stampin’ Up!

Since it is still summer … my take on the “HOPE” theme led me to use the stamp set, Seaside Shore (141625) and By the Shore Designer Series Paper (141640).

I have seen MANY of the double Z fold cards lately.  I love the style!  So here is my idea for a card.  I used Soft Sky, Calypso Coral and Dapper Denim Cardstock and inks. Very Vanilla Cardstock is my neutral color.

Lots of Labels Framelits (138281) was the only set of dies used for the card.  There is a bunch of “fussy cutting” involved .. one day I WILL take my E-cutter out of it’s box.

I was having a hard time trying to come up with a project for this month.  I “HOPE” you love it as much as I do!!  The stamp set and Designer Series Paper screamed “AQUARIUM”!!!!  (My 4 year old grand daughter has “dibs” on the aquarium when I finish typing this!)

….so … I pulled out my trusty Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlets (135853), Layering Circles Framelits (141705) and window sheets (142314) to make this aquarium. I put a window in 3 sides.

I introduced some Mint Macaron sea weed and then made some coral from the tree from the Thoughtful Branches VERY limited time bundle (144328) to add interest to the aquarium. (Only available in AUGUST 2016)

The fish, sea weed and coral are mounted on a square of DSP using window sheet tabs and glue dots.  Close it up and add a bow to finish it off and call it DONE!

Here are some other views of the closed box.

Stampin Friends Spring/Pastel Hop

Spring has sprung!!! Well it seems like it anyway … the 20th isn’t far away.  The weather in Massachusetts has been pretty nice.  I loved our easy winter … I would like more of the same next winter.  Please?

Well, here are my projects.  Everything (except the Jelly Beans) I used is from Stampin’ Up!

“Spring or Pastels” was the theme we had to follow this month.  I covered a few bases by making them Easter … guess what the grandkids are getting!! … Well, I’ll need to buy more jelly beans … every time I took a photo there were fewer and fewer jellybeans … I just don’t understand …..

So Saffron, Pool Party and Blushing Bride are my pastels for spring!  The chick is from Honeycomb Happiness (141291), a Sale-A-Bration set.  There is still time to earn him!  But hurry, March 31st is the last day of Sale-A-Bration!  I stamped him in Memento Black in on Whisper White cardstock and again on (the now retired) Perfectly Artistic DSP.  I forgot it was retired when I made this card for the hop!!  So sorry … BUT … you can use So Saffron cardstock or any DSP with a subtle print.  I fussy cut out the yellow chick without his legs and glued it on the image stamped on the white cardstock.  A Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker colored his feet and beak.  I used the 2-1/2″ circle punch to cut the chick circle.  The colored circle was made with the Circles Collection Framelits   (130911). The background DSP is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (138437).  The word “Happy” is from the Hello You Thinlits (138283).  The word “Easter” or Spring” is from Crazy About You (137137) and die cut using Banner Framelits (132173).  A Tea Lace Paper Doily (129399) and some White Seam Binding finish off the card. 20160316_144939_wm

I rarely leave the inside of a card blank.  The sentiment is from Greatest Sayings (140706).

Here is my “oh so very easy” project.  I hope you like it! 20160316_144657_wm

I don’t use this die often enough .. there is so much you can make with it.  I love the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits (135853).  After cutting out the shapes, I used a circle die to make a window in one side so my QUICKLY DISAPPEARING JELLY BEANS would show.  I glued in a piece of window sheet (114323) which was cut using the next larger circle die.  I covered part of the box with paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack (138437).

I felt the box needed something more, so I cut a matching butterfly using the medium sized butterfly from the Butterfly Thinlits (137360).  I cut the butterfly down the center of his body and glued a half to each side of the slit.

This box is amazingly sturdy.  Even though it is now void of any jelly beans … it once was full. 20160316_144217_wm
