***********

Here are my projects for our May hop … May Flowers/Sympathy.  I chose May flowers even though sunflowers are more an August flower than a May flower … forgive me!

There is quite a bit of Big Shot work on this card… but it’s very quick if you cut multiple pieces at the same time.  The card itself is very simple, with a Whisper White (thick card stock) base, a layer of Chocolate Chip and top layer of Whisper White.

I used Birthday Blooms for my sentiments.  I stamped in Early Espresso.  The solid circle (under the medallion layer) is from the Layering Circle Framelits cut from Early Espresso.  I used Chocolate Chip top layer of the sunflower center which is cut from A scallop circle (from the Layering Circle Framelits) and 2 dies from the BRAND NEW (available this month as part of a bundle) Eastern Medallion dies.

The sunflower is cut from the Eastern Medallion dies in Daffodil Delight.  This die does not completely cut … on purpose.  A few easy snips and you can free it from the paper.   I used 2 to make it a full sunflower.

I like to carry the theme from the card front to the inside.  I just used an extra leaf.  The leaves are from the May Flowers Thinlits.  In the end, there is no question that this is a May Flower card!

I popped the sunflower and leaves up on dimensionals. I really like this card a lot!

Below is how I laid out the dies to minimize the number of passes on the Big Shot.  Using your magnetic platform makes life easier!!

Here is my 3D project … simply made with a piece of covered floral wire.  I used a Wild Wasabi circle to cover the wire in the back.  The leaves are held on with glue dots.  .. I stuffed some styrofoam into the small terra cotta pot, stuck in some moss and the sunflower.

I added some of the brand new Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon that will be available June 1st in the new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog to dress up the pot..

I hope you enjoyed my post.  I’d love it if you can take the time to leave me a comment or a question.
