Welcome to my contribution to the Team Stamp It Summer Lovin’ Blog Hop. Either this is your first stop or you arrived via Liz Miller’s blog. Isn’t she wonderful!!?? Now … on with the show!
Here it comes … in New England, SUMMER has arrived…. I think! Daytime temperatures are in the upper 70’s to 80’s …. ahhhh … heaven! Especially after this past winter! We did manage to get a couple days of spring in between… not enough … but it will have to do.
To me, summer means vacation. ahhh …. And vacation means boating on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. ahhhhhh….. And boating brings to mind a nautical theme for my card. (Please forgive the starfish … no starfish are found in Lake Winnipesaukee!) … and just how many h’s does one use in “ahhhhhhhh“?
Can you believe this is the first time I used the stamp set Sea Street?? I am VERY glad it carries over to the NEW annual catalog! I used several (FIVE) stamp sets for this card, all of which carry over into the new catalog. I really couldn’t decide whether to use the anchor from Sea Street or The Open Sea. Which do YOU prefer?
(Real) Red, (Whisper) White and (Night of) Navy … the colors of summer … Memorial Day (the unofficial start of summer), Flag Day and the Fourth of July. I stamped the Night of Navy card bases with Whisper White Craft ink, using the starfish, randomly, on one card and the rope, lined up vertically,
on the other. The Stamp-a-ma-jig and my grid paper came in handy when lining up the rope because the stamp only covers half the height of the card base. I also used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the Sea Street anchors. I lined up the red rope image using my grid paper. A trio of candy dots and some baker’s twine adds some texture to an otherwise flat card … no Stampin’ dimensionals! … it’s not often I can say that! (Oh … I did cheat and use Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine on one of the cards … since we don’t carry it in Real Red.)
I used “Life is Good” from Remember This (A Project Life set), “At Last” from And Many More and “Summer” from another Project Life set, Day to Day. This card lends itself to a variety of occasions … Father’s Day or masculine birthday come immediately to mind. Just change up the inside sentiment to fit your need.
I’m glad you took the time to visit … now …..

Enjoy your summer … I know I will!
